What we make in-house

Every process below runs in our Sun Valley shop. That keeps commercial sign manufacturing for Los Angeles businesses in one building. A typical sign uses several of them, and each one is a few steps from the next.
  • UV and wide-format printing

Full-color print straight onto acrylic, aluminum, PVC and foam board, or onto vinyl and banner material. Raised UV builds a texture you can feel: see the wall panel and close-ups.
  • CNC routing

Letters, logos, shapes and panels cut from acrylic, aluminum composite, PVC and foam board, plus backer panels for plaques and lobby signs.
  • Laser cutting

Clean, polished edges on acrylic letters, logos and plaques, and fine detail that's too small for a router bit.
  • Acrylic

Clear, colored, mirror and translucent acrylic for lit faces, standoff plaques, lobby letters and logo walls.

  • Aluminum

Aluminum and aluminum composite for panels, letters, parking and property signs, printed or with cut vinyl.

  • PVC and foam board

Light, rigid board for indoor signs, non-lit dimensional letters and display pieces.
    Ask about dimensional letters
  • Vinyl

Cut and printed vinyl for window graphics, door lettering, translucent sign faces and day/night film.
  • LED assembly

LED modules laid out and spaced inside lit letters and sign cabinets, so the face lights evenly.

From approved design to finished sign

Custom sign fabrication starts after you approve the design. Here's what happens to it in the shop.
  1. Production files

The approved drawing is split into cut files, print files and an assembly plan for each part of the sign.

    Who Our shop

  2. Cut

Letters, faces and panels are cut on the CNC router, the laser or the flatbed cutter.

    Who Our shop

  3. Print

    Who Our shop

  4. Assemble and light

Parts are joined and finished. In lit signs, the LED modules are laid out and spaced.

  5. Check before it leaves

We check the finished sign against the approved drawing and light up lit signs before they go out for installation.

What each sign needs from the shop

Custom sign fabrication in Los Angeles is rarely one process. Here's how the work splits for common business signs.

Sign companies, contractors and brands

Have drawings? Send them for a fabrication quote.

Sign companies, general contractors, architects and multi-location brands can send drawings to a sign fabrication company with its own shop in Sun Valley, Los Angeles. We build to your drawings, fabrication only: faces, letters, panels and printed parts.

Email PDF, AI, DWG or ZIP files with quantities and the site list to hello@angelsprint.com. We come back with questions before we price.

Why one shop matters

When printing, cutting and assembly happen in one building, a change is a walk across the shop instead of a new round of emails between vendors. The color you approved is printed in the same building where the faces are cut.

It also means you can see where your sign is made. Angels Signs is the sign brand of Angels Print in Sun Valley. Banners, decals and business print come from Angels Print at the same address.

Visit the shop where your sign is made

Bring your logo on your phone, look at samples and talk through your sign with the people who build it.

  • Text first if that's easierThe shop number takes texts too. A person reads every one, so you can send a photo of the wall before you come.
  • Bring what you haveYour logo on your phone, a photo of the wall, your landlord's sign criteria. Any of it helps.

Sign fabrication questions

Still deciding? Call (818) 806-9006 or text a photo and ask.

Can I visit the shop?
Yes. The shop is at 8511 Lankershim Blvd in Sun Valley and is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Call or text (818) 806-9006 before you come.
What do you make in-house?
UV and wide-format printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, acrylic, aluminum, PVC, foam board and vinyl work, and LED assembly. For channel letters, the faces, trim, vinyl and LED layout are made in our shop.
Are you a sign manufacturing company or a broker?
We make signs in our own shop. Printing, routing, laser cutting, vinyl and LED assembly happen in our Sun Valley shop, and you can come and see the work. Installation and permit filing are done by a licensed sign-contractor partner.
Can you build from my designer's files?
Yes. Send vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) and we check them for production. If something won't build as drawn, such as a stroke too thin to cut, we tell you before we start.
Do you fabricate for other sign companies and contractors?
Yes. Email drawings, quantities and the site list to hello@angelsprint.com, or start a request and choose "A client or brand project". We come back with questions before we price.
Can you make new faces for my existing sign cabinet?
Yes. Send a photo of the cabinet and the face size. A new face or new copy in an existing cabinet usually needs no permit in the City of LA, as long as the cabinet stays in place. Details are in our LA sign permit guide (information, not an approval).
What files do you need for production?
Vector files are best: AI, EPS, PDF or SVG, with fonts outlined. A low-resolution logo is fine to start with. We rebuild it as clean vector artwork instead of enlarging a blurry image.
Who installs what you build?
A licensed sign-contractor partner installs the sign and files the permit. We build it and prepare the drawings. Your quote lists the installer's CSLB license number.
Can you match my brand colors?
Yes. We print to your brand colors and use colored acrylic or translucent vinyl for lit faces. Lit colors look different from unlit ones, so we confirm them with you before production.
Why does in-house fabrication matter?
You deal with one shop from the approved drawing to the finished sign. Faces, panels and printed parts are made to that same drawing, and we check the finished sign against it before it goes to the installer.
