Window Graphics and Storefront Window Decals in Los Angeles

Window graphics put your name, hours and offers on the glass, where people on the sidewalk look first. We design and print custom window graphics in our Sun Valley shop: cut vinyl lettering, printed decals, frosted privacy film and one-way window film. You see them on a photo of your own windows first.

A straight-on photo of the glass is enough. The first mockup and one round of changes are free for business-sign requests, per location. Extra rounds are billed.

Mockup first

See the graphics on your glass before they're printed

Glass is tricky. Reflections, door handles and whatever sits behind the window all change how a graphic reads. A mockup on your own photo shows it first. The first mockup and one round of changes are free for business-sign requests, per location. Extra rounds are billed.

  1. Send a photo of each window

Straight on, from the sidewalk, with the door in the frame. Glass sizes help but are optional.

What are window graphics?

Window graphics are vinyl films applied to glass: lettering, logos, printed images or a frosted band. They turn a storefront window into a sign, give an office privacy, and tell people walking by when you're open. For hours, phone numbers and websites, they're the simplest window signs for business.

Storefront window graphics are often the first sign a new tenant puts up, while the main sign goes through landlord approval and permits. Vinyl window graphics also come off when you move or rebrand, which suits renters.

Four kinds of window graphics

Most storefronts use two or three of these together. All of them are printed or cut in our Sun Valley shop.
  • Cut vinyl lettering

Letters and logos cut from solid-color vinyl, with no background. Clean for hours, phone numbers, door info and a logo on the glass.
  • Printed decals

Full-color graphics printed on white or clear vinyl on our wide-format printers, then cut to shape. For photos, gradients and multicolor logos.
  • Perforated one-way film

Printed vinyl with small holes. From outside you see the graphic. From inside you see through it, like a tinted window.
  • Frosted privacy film

Translucent film with an etched-glass look. Full panels, a band at eye level, or a logo cut out of the frost.

Window graphic options

Each of these can be shown in your mockup, on your own glass.

Hours and door decals
Opening hours, phone, website and push/pull labels in your brand font.
Logo on the glass
Cut vinyl, printed, or cut out of frosted film.
Menu and promo panels
Printed panels for menus, pickup info and seasonal offers. Easy to replace when the offer changes.
Privacy band
A frosted band at eye level for clinics, offices and salons, with daylight still coming through.
Full window wrap
Perforated film across the whole glass. Check the city limit first.
Inside or outside application
Inside keeps the graphic out of the weather and still reads from the street. Outside reads better on tinted or mirrored glass.
Glass door markings
Dots, a band or your logo at eye level, so people notice a glass door or wall before they reach it.
Short-term graphics
Films chosen to come off easily after a sale, a launch or an event.

Which window film fits?

It depends on three things: whether you need to see out, whether you want to keep people from seeing in, or whether you just need words on the glass.

Where a business can use window graphics

On almost any glass a customer or visitor sees. These are the most common spots.
  • Storefront windows

Your name, logo and what you sell, readable from the sidewalk and the parking lot.
    Storefront signs
  • Entry doors

Hours, phone, website and door info at eye level, where people check before they walk in.
  • Restaurant and pickup windows

Menus, order-here and pickup signs, and promos that change with the season.
    Restaurant signs
  • Office and conference glass

Frosted film or a logo band on glass walls and doors, often next to the lobby sign. It keeps meetings private and makes the glass easy to see.
  • Clinic exam and waiting rooms

Privacy film that lets light in and keeps patients out of view from the hallway or street.
  • Display windows

Seasonal graphics and launch displays that come down when the promotion ends.

What window graphics usually cost

The price moves with:

  • The area of glass you cover, and how many windows and locations are in the job.
  • The film: cut vinyl, printed decal, perforated or frosted.
  • Colors and pieces. Many small cut letters in several colors take longer than one printed panel.
  • Removal of old graphics and adhesive first.
  • Access. High glass that needs a ladder or a lift.

HomeAdvisor's national reference for vinyl lettering is $10 to $100 for small jobs (HomeAdvisor, 2026). That's a national reference, not our price. Full storefront graphics cost more, and installed per-square-foot prices are rarely published. Send a photo of your windows for a real number.

LA permit note

Window signs in the City of LA: up to 10% of the window

In the City of Los Angeles, window signs may cover at most 10% of the window area (LADBS Sign Manual). A graphic across the whole glass goes far past that, so check the rules for your address before you plan a full window wrap in Los Angeles. Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena set their own limits, and shopping centers often add sign criteria of their own.

Tell us what you want on the glass, and we'll check the address before we design. For a sign on the building itself, read the Los Angeles sign permit guide.

Check My Address

Send the address and your email. A person replies in writing with what your city and your landlord's criteria usually allow. Information, not an approval.

Window graphics questions

Still deciding? Call (818) 806-9006 or text a photo and ask.

Where can a business use window graphics?
On almost any glass customers see: storefront and display windows, entry doors, drive-thru and pickup windows, office and conference-room glass, and clinic exam rooms. Lettering and logos count as window signs, and cities limit how much of the glass they can cover. See the LA permit note above.
Do window graphics need a permit in Los Angeles?
Sometimes. It depends on the city, the size and what the graphic shows. In the City of LA, window signs may cover at most 10% of the window area. Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena have their own rules, and many leases add the landlord's approval. Send the address and we'll note what usually applies before we design. This is general information, not an approval.
Can I still see out through window graphics?
Yes, with perforated one-way film. From inside it looks like a tinted window. Cut vinyl lettering leaves the glass around the letters clear. Solid printed vinyl and frosted film block the view.
Should graphics go on the inside or the outside of the glass?
Inside keeps the graphic out of the weather and away from hands. Outside reads better on tinted or mirrored glass, and some films are made for the outside. We pick the side for each window and print to match.
Can window graphics be removed later?
Yes. Most window films come off with heat and a plastic scraper, and adhesive residue cleans off the glass. Tell us if a graphic is short-term, so we choose a film made to come off easily.
What's the difference between window decals and window graphics?
Mostly size. Window decals usually mean smaller pieces like hours, logos and door info. Window graphics also cover full printed panels, privacy film and one-way film. We make both.
Who installs window graphics?
A licensed sign-contractor partner. Your quote lists the installer's CSLB license number.
Can I come to the shop to talk about my windows?
Yes. The shop is at 8511 Lankershim Blvd in Sun Valley, in the San Fernando Valley, open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Bring photos of your glass and any window decals you want to replace or match. Call (818) 806-9006 before you come so the right person is there.
